Surf camp Algarve

Our selection of Surf camp Algarve options stretch from the south coastline of the Algarve to the South Western Coastline of the Alentejo region.

Located at the southwestern point of Portugal, the area receives a consistent Atlantic swell year round, making it one of the best places in the world for surfing. There are lots of lovely white sandy beaches, perfect for beginners, as well as challenging point breaks and reef breaks for the more experienced surfers to be explored.

Algarve has a hot Mediterranean climate and receives the greatest number of sunny days per year in all of Europe. In the summer months (July to September) the air temperature usually stays between 25°C and 32°C. In the winter months (December to February) the temperature drops to around 13°C, and you usually have an increase in rain and wind. In the spring and autumn the temperatures stays around 22°C, with mild winds and usually sunny days.

Surf school

Learn how to surf

Our surf schools are connected to our accommodation options and are relative to the distance from the nearest surf beach. Depending on proximity to the beach from your surf camp, you may be collected and taken to the beach by the surf school.

The surf schools supply you with all equipment needed, and the instructors are experienced surfers who are passionate to teach you loads about waves, wind and water. Groups are always kept to a maximum of 8 people per session so everyone will get a chance at one to one tuition. All surf instructors are BSA qualified and are certified lifeguards.

We guarantee that after one week at one of our surf schools the complete beginner will be able to surf and the experienced surfer will have improved greatly.

The surf school packages are all different but each usually include some or all of the following:

  • 2h surf lesson, five days per week
  • All surf equipment needed
  • Daily transport to your surf lesson depending on distance from your accommodation
  • Breakfast and lunch
  • Loads of fresh fruit, light snacks and beverages

Guided surf trips

Surfari is a great option for the experienced surfer and some of our surf schools offer this option.

Along the Portuguese coastline you find innumerable great surf spots, and going on a surfari hooks you up with a local surf guide who knows just where to go! Within a 10 min drive from the surf lodge you find great beach breaks like Arrifana, Monte Clerigo, Amoreira, and Praia De Canal, and if you are more into reef breaks there's the Kangaroo Beach.

The surfari tend to only operate from October to March when the swell is at it's best, to make sure you will be surfing the best possible waves during your stay!

The following is included in the surfari:

  • Accommodation in the surf lodge
  • Experienced surf guide
  • Daily transport to different surf spots
  • Supervised excursions to Lagos and other places of interest
  • Breakfast and lunch
  • Loads of fresh fruit, light snacks and beverages
  • 5 evening meals (Thursdays and Saturdays you have the option to dine out or cook a meal using our kitchen facilities)
  • Pick up/drop off in Logos or Aljezur on arrival and departure
